For more than thirty years, I have worked at the intersection of graphic design, teaching, and learning—developing tools and approaches that foster access, engagement, and comprehension across all stages of education, from early childhood through adulthood.

I am currently a Professor of Design at Lesley University College of Art and Design and a Critic in the Department of Teaching and Learning in Art and Design Education at the Rhode Island School of Design.

My academic background includes a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of the Arts, an M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Yale University, a C.A.G.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University’s Graduate School of Education, and an Ed.D. in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education.
